Goddess Calico -Tell us a little about your background / family.
Tara Sterling - I am very much a Californian. I was raised in Southern California in a Liberal yet grounded and tight knit family. My teenage years were spent both studying as well as gaining real life experience in fields and areas that interested me. I've always been an adventurous person and I've been given a lot of space to live out and explore my passions.
Goddess Calico -Do you have any special skills or fetishes?
Tara Sterling - Through studying under Ms. Eisanna Eiger I've built up an arsenal of knowledge within the realm of Serious Bondage including leather, metal, and now on my own rubber bondage. Understanding bondage is about not only psychology and physiology but also engineering and critical thinking/ problem solving skills. I still learn something new every time I play but I'm very confident in that regard. Electrical play, device bondage, and mind fuck are all things that I really enjoy. I've recently been exploring heavy rubber and latex, but I'm also very fond of classic lingerie and stockings, as well as leather and boots. Most of my submissives also know that I'm very fond of foot worship. With a select few submissives I have gotten into long term training and chastity and enjoy that a lot. Goddess Calico -Is there any scene You haven't done yet that You would like to?
Tara Sterling - I have a long list of things I want to try! I'll try to think of just a few: I travel frequently to Germany where Bizzarre Rubber is popular but I have yet to play in or try on the large Bizzarre Rubber capes and gowns. There's something fabulously absurd about them and I would love to feel the weight of all of that rubber as well as use it to smother/ indulge a submissive rubber fetishist. I love the outdoors and would really enjoy doing a kidnapping weekend in which I take the captive up to a cabin in the woods outside of S.F. and got to do both indoor and outdoor bondage and torture! Similarly, I'd like to do the same thing by the beach, and do things like water bondage in the surf and ocean (with proper safety precautions of course!). I've never had a submissive worship my boots in public, but it is something I want to make happen some time with the right person, I think it would be an amazing rush for both of us.
Goddess Calico -What is Your favorite toy to use on a slave?
Tara Sterling - Many of my scenes are very gear/toy heavy so this is a hard one for me since I have so many that I love to use. My Erostek312 is at the top of my list, some of my more unique mouth-open gags are really hot, the classic leather straight jacket is definitely a favorite, and I of course always love classic canes and switches.
Goddess Calico -What is the most intense scene You ever did with a slave?
Tara Sterling - I've packed a lot of intense play into my short time as a Domme, and I think that a lot of scenes have been really intense in their own way. The times I've introduced someone to something new or they've stretched their limits just for me have been the most intense. I think the intensity level comes from my connection with the submissive rather than the severity of the act so it is hard to quantify and pick out just one.

Tara Sterling - I have a really wide range of play, the nice thing about playing on my "home turf" in the dungeon is being able to let the scene flow and pick up different toys or use different gear as I feel inspired.

Tara Sterling - I don't think anyone does anything strictly for one reason. We all have a variety of motivations behind our life decisions. I became a professional dominant out of curiousity and a desire to learn more about bdsm in general and myself. I've continued playing professionally because I enjoy the lifestyle it affords me including a flexible schedule, and lots of travel. I love being my own boss! I also, as I mentioned, have a naturally adventurous personality and meeting new people, exploring their deepest fantasies and desires (as well as my own), is very fulfilling and interesting to me. I've also just got a huge Princess side and I feel at home being worshiped and adored by many- which comes with the territory in this business!
Goddess Calico -Can you describe your 3 weirdest clients?
Tara Sterling - I can't think of any clients that I would consider to be weird, however even if I could I wouldn't describe their scene as that would fall outside of my personal rules about discretion
Goddess Calico -What do you enjoy about B&D and S/M?
Tara Sterling - I think that BDSM allows for heightened connection with other people through creative and deconstructionist means. I thrive on that connection and both the abstract and sometimes absurd methods used to cultivate it. The fanciful, and the fun, as well as the dark and sharp. I enjoy the rush I get from total control, and knowing that someone has placed that kind of trust in me.
Goddess Calico -What was your funniest session?
Tara Sterling - My humiliation sessions almost always make me laugh! I'll share this story as it has already been written about online and I know the slave would just get a kick out of being mentioned. Once, Eisanna and I shaved the head of one of her long time slaves leaving only two tufts as pigtails. We put clips with streamers in the slave's hair and thus had successfully turned a conservative republican into someone who looked like they just got back from Burning Man!
Goddess Calico -What is the most satisfying thing about your job?
Tara Sterling - Being able to rock someone's world, to take them so far into a scene that we really are creating another world together for that moment. I'm most satisfied after I've done that!

Tara Sterling - Everything! I think everyone is unique.
Goddess Calico -Are you natural dominant?
Tara Sterling - Yes, but not just because of having a naturally dominant attitude. I think I am a natural dominant because of my exceptional communication skills and. I am also naturally patient and compassionate as well as determined and hard working.
Goddess Calico -Do you think a relationship Mistress/slave is deeper or stronger than any other kind of relationship?
Tara Sterling - Not necessarily. I think all relationships between different people are unique. I think that Mistress/slave relationships have the potential for being very deep and strong but so do other types.
Goddess Calico -What do you think about an utopic world ruled by Women?
Tara Sterling - I don't like the idea of people being separated into categories by race, religion, or gender and ruling over the other. Female supremacy is fun in fantasy and in consensual ongoing BDSM relationships but as a life philosophy or reality it doesn't appeal to me.
