J and I watched Blue Velvet together the other day. It was the first time I had seen it since my mom [yeah, MOM] had me watch it back in high school. I've been screaming MOMMY, BABY WANTS TO FUCK around the house getting J to laugh.

Don't even get me started on Crash. I read the book, then saw the film back in...2005? IFC had a Cronenberg midnight thing and I got to see it again on the big screen back in '09.

It's the only time I ever want to see Elias Koteas having sex with anyone or anything. That movie sealed my love affair with James Spader.

I bought a DVD transfer of Cool Devices in college and I sincerely hope I have it. It's probably buried in my porno drawer at home. The girl who follows the couple is definitely up there for me. I found a clip of the bunny and cat girl scene online somewhere.

From a horror perspective, I have to include From Beyond. The lovely and talented Barbara Crampton is excellent in it, and watching her go from a prim, rather smug psychiatrist into a subtly sex-crazed Dominatrix is stimulating on several levels. I've seen this film a half dozen times over the last few years, and always enjoy it.

Miss, some of my favorites:

I love "The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and her Lover." Helen Mirren is indescribably luscious in it. I could live without the scene with the dogs and the golden shower, but then one of the fascinations of the movie is all that beauty mixed with all that ugliness.

There is one hella great caning scene in "Lady Jane."

There is a moment in "Tightrope" where Genevieve Bujold offers to let Clint Eastwood handcuff her that gives me chills.

A single throwaway line in "A Tiger's Tale": Ann Margaret says of her teenage daugher "She's at home with a bad case of the hairbrush."

"Leaving Las Vegas," sad though it is.

Would you believe "Home Alone 2?" I got a big Catherine O'Hara crush from her scolding him and sending him to his room.

You know, I've always been strangely attracted to Catherine O'Hara and it has likely stemmed from that film. I was in grade school when it first came out and like most kids, was a fan of that movie. I eternally confuse In the Realm of the Senses with The Pillow Book. I've seen the latter and it really lacked for me. Terribly overstylized, but I've heard Realm is a seminal film.

One film from back a number of years ago - Love and Human Remains - Movie is so-so, but Mia Kirschner's performance as a Dominatrix comes across terrific. She's terrific in the session scenes, and shows a real world persona in the non-session ones.

I have yet to see Walk All Over Me, but would like to rent it soon.

Secratary was a gas. I really enjoyed Quills also. I also really get a kick out of kinky references popping up in a movie, e.g. The Addams Family movies.

Realm was indeed seminal; the background is a real story from 1936, were a lady cut off the penis of a lover and went some days through Tokyo with it until she was caught.
